Open Field Engagement Session | Atlanta Engagement Photographer


Eliza and Clayton’s engagement session was everything I love about photographing couples in the countryside just south of Atlanta. Open fields, tall grass, plenty of room to move around, and that soft evening light that makes everything feel a little more romantic. We photographed their engagement session at Boots & Barefoot Farm, surrounded by wide open fields and the quiet Georgia countryside. It was simple, relaxed, and such a beautiful setting for photos that really focused on the two of them.

Engagement Photos in the Fields Near Atlanta


One of my favorite things about an open field engagement session is how much freedom it gives us. We can walk through the fields, chase the last bit of sunlight, and let the session unfold naturally instead of feeling like we're moving from one posed photo to the next. And you don't have to drive hours into North Georgia to find this kind of scenery. There are beautiful open fields and countryside locations just south of Atlanta that give us tall grass, gorgeous evening light, and plenty of room to make your engagement session feel relaxed and private.

Eliza and Clayton fit this setting so naturally. We spent the evening wandering around the property, taking our time, and letting them enjoy being together while I photographed everything in between.

Planning an Engagement Session in Atlanta, Georgia


If you're dreaming about engagement photos surrounded by open fields, countryside, and soft golden light, the areas south of Atlanta are some of my favorite places to photograph. The landscape changes throughout the year, which means these sessions can look completely different depending on the season. Spring brings fresh greens and softer colors, summer gives us lush fields and long evenings, and fall brings warmer tones and tall grasses. I usually recommend scheduling field engagement sessions around golden hour so we can take advantage of the softer light as the sun gets lower. Whether we're running through the fields, slowing things down for quieter portraits, or catching the last little bit of sunlight, I want engagement photos to feel relaxed, carefree, and like the two of you.
